Thought your disco ball was cool? Artist Lilibeth Cuenca Rasmussen created a series of four mannequins decked out in shards of mirror for her exhibition Mobile Mirrors at Christian Larsen gallery in Stockholm, Sweden. "The mirror surfaces of the mannequins turn our gaze back onto ourselves, forcing us to become aware of our own bodies and consumption habits..."

Mercedes-Benz and the new CLA's "Untamed" Installation, Paris http://www.juxtapoz.com/current/mercedes-benz-and-the-new-clas-untamed-installation-paris http://www.juxtapoz.com/current/mercedes-benz-and-the-new-clas-untamed-installation-paris Mercedes-Benz and the new CLA's
Countless Instagram photos are created every second. Photos that reflect particular points of view in the life circumstances of different people. But which motifs are really unique? Mercedes-Benz and the new CLA were looking for Instagram photos with that uniqueness. That are new. “Untamed”. Users from all over the world were asked to take part and upload their extraordinary views from their personal Instagram photo stream in sets of three. The idea behind this: the #Untamed Score showed how distinctive the style of the user’s photos was compared to those of others.

Nonotak Studio's Installation Hypnotizes and Traps Vistors in a Light Prison http://www.juxtapoz.com/current/nonotak-studios-installation-hypnotizes-and-traps-vistors-in-a-light-prison http://www.juxtapoz.com/current/nonotak-studios-installation-hypnotizes-and-traps-vistors-in-a-light-prison Nonotak Studio's Installation Hypnotizes and Traps Vistors in a Light Prison
The light installation Isotopes v.2 by Nonotak Studio hypnotizes visitors with moving lights, attracting them to the center of the installation. Then, the rhythm and the intensity of the lights continually become more aggressive until they generate immaterial barriers: "it's easy to get in but neigh impossible to get out." The catalyst and inspiration for the project is the Fukushima nuclear disaster and it is meant to echo the way humans approach nuclear power. Watch a video after the jump!

A Steamroller Music Box and Knitting Machine by Dave Cole http://www.juxtapoz.com/current/a-steamroller-music-box-and-knitting-machine-by-dave-cole http://www.juxtapoz.com/current/a-steamroller-music-box-and-knitting-machine-by-dave-cole A Steamroller Music Box and Knitting Machine by Dave Cole
Dave Cole re-appropriates existing "tools "gives them a new purpose. For his The Music Box piece, the artist dismantled a 22,000 lb. steamroller, refabricating more than 80% of it and converting it into a fully functioning music box. Watch a video after the jump of his Knitting Machine piece. Helping two excavators knit an American flag looks like a tedious, long process. And don't miss his jackhammer orchestra…

Juxtapoz will be headed to NYC this week for all the festivities around Frieze and the surrounding art fairs. Barbara Kruger, November 2010 http://www.juxtapoz.com/vault/barbara-kruger-november-2010 http://www.juxtapoz.com/vault/barbara-kruger-november-2010 Barbara Kruger, November 2010
News broke last week that NYC-based fashion staple, Supreme, was suing women's fashion line, Married to the Mob, for a copyright infringement based around the logo/graphic "Supreme Bitch." What many in the art world already understood is that Barbara Kruger, now a professor at UCLA and world renowned conceptual artist, was, and we say this gently, robbed of her style by Supreme with their now iconic logo. Kruger would never go on record saying she created the idea of a red box with Futura Bold Oblique look, but, well, she did. This is our cover story with Kruger from November 2010.

Assault Rifle Graphic Illusion Made From Ping Pong Balls http://www.juxtapoz.com/current/assault-rifle-graphic-illusion-made-from-ping-pong-balls http://www.juxtapoz.com/current/assault-rifle-graphic-illusion-made-from-ping-pong-balls Assault Rifle Graphic Illusion Made From Ping Pong Balls
Michael Murphy's latest optic illusion- type installation titled Damage is made from 1,2000 hanging ping pong balls, painted black and must be vewed from a specific angle. When viewed from the correct angle, the hanging balls resemble an assault rifle. The artist is known for his optical illusion-type works that, when viewed from the correct angle, stap into place. "Guns are fetishized in the U.S.," the artist says, "Many, many Americans love guns. I'm creating a giant gun. I just want people to keep talking about guns [and] why we should have guns. Communication is necessary because I don't see any sort of solution being proposed."

Watch: "Zigzagging" Pattern and RGB Light Installation by Carnovsky http://www.juxtapoz.com/current/watch-zigzagging-pattern-and-rgb-light-installation-by-carnovsky http://www.juxtapoz.com/current/watch-zigzagging-pattern-and-rgb-light-installation-by-carnovsky Watch:
In addition to the RGB Fabulous Landscapes (which we posted earlier) where specially printed digital frescos changed depending on whether natural, red, green, or blue light was applied, Carnovsky was also commissioned to create a installation for Missoni. Titled, Zigzagging, the installation uses geometric motifs, and fantastic patterns with similar, changing, flashing RGB lights. We suggest you don't watch the video if you're epileptic…
