ROID x INSA in 'Paradise'

Juxtapoz // Saturday, February 22, 2014
Bringing the heat per usual, London based ROID and INSA turned POW! POW! Hawaii out this year by creating this larger than life animation of the wall they painted. Having to paint, and re-paint the large scale piece in Oahu's Honolulu, the duo put together this mind melting bit of GIF-ITI in their signature styles and palettes for you to watch on repeat x 1000.

INSA's "Girls on Bikes"

Erotica // Tuesday, July 23, 2013
"Girls on Bikes" is an ongoing public installation project by INSA that orchestrates a conflicting dialogue between his own street art, the possessed object of the bike and the overtly sexualized female presence. INSA makes large scale painted walls then uses them as backdrops for momentary public installations, the products of which are these photos. He aims to question our individual perceptions of ownership of public space, sexuality and belonging.

Longtime Radiohead and Thom Yorke collaborator, Donwood, created the artwork for the Atoms For Peace album, a scene of armageddon in modern Los Angeles. This was interpreted by INSA as a piece of his patented GIF-ITI. INSA painted the Atoms For Peace artwork on to the XL office in Los Angeles a number of times, each a different frame of animation, to create a real life GIF.
