This one should be awesome. Our good friend Monica Canilao, who we have worked with in Detroit in the past (see the Juxtapoz 15th Anniversary project from 2009-10), and we are hyped that she curated a group show, Alchemy, at Inner State Gallery. She brought some really good artists to show: Swoon, Doze Green, Swampy, Dennis McNett, Kyle Ranson, and a lot more. Basically the type of artists you should know/get to know.

Up until 2014, Jesus Benitez worked under the name of DHEAR, the last we saw of this was in his duo show “La Llegada de Apophis” with fellow Mexican artist Smithe at Fifty24MX in México City. His first solo-show with his new pseudonym, better his actual name, opened last July at Fifty24SF, portraying in his immaculate technique a shift in direction; somewhat rougher yet stylized maintaining his alien like character themed scenarios that we can immediately refer back to him.
