We recently attended the opening of Gary Baseman’s latest exhibition “Nightmares of Halloween's Past” at the newly opened KK Gallery in Los Angeles' historic Chinatown. Fredrich Kunath’s stunning exhibition “Lacan’s Haircut” opened recently at Blum & Poe in Los Angeles. Anchored by a large body of new paintings, this immersive exhibition also includse sculpture, floor coverings, video and an accompanying book entitled You Owe Me a Feeling with text by David Berman. This past weekend we had the pleasure of viewing Giles Walker’s latest installation The Last Supper which is presented by Corey Helford in a temporary space in Culver City. The 20-foot long installation of fully operational robots performing his interpretation of the Last Supper of Christ. We stopped by THIS Los Angeles for the opening reception of Gold Coast, an exhibition of new works by San Francisco based artists Daniel Gibson and Mike Bertino. The show's theme is around the idea of California, and the "vortex that happens between this kind of ambition and the illusion of indifferent coolness that bastardizes everything it comes in contact with."
