Illustration // Wednesday, November 20, 2013
If I were to tell you that the face behind these ghastly, gory renderings of dripping, sludgy skin and disease was a leprocy-free, normal and attractive young man by the name of Josh Freydkis, you probably wouldn't believe me- but as far as I can tell its true. As an artist and illustrator, Josh was born and raised in the foggy outer avenues of San Francisco and currently lives and works in Brooklyn.

Her process involved combining stencils with hand-drawn elements to create a rich and multi-textured final image. Whether it's a brain taking a stroll or a two-headed worlf taking on a bunch of snakes, it's the fun mix of light and dark that keeps Tuomas' work light-hearted." Based in Finland, Ikonen imbues the digital medium with a wonderful level of tactility, creating artwork that is incredibly clean while feeling almost hand-made.
