Raised in Germany and currently residing in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, Paul Hoppe is a freelance illustrator, cartoonist, designer, and author who enjoys venturing in a variety of artistic fields, including editorial illustration, children's books, comics, advertising, and graphic design. In addition to his professional artistic work, Hoppe teaches courses on comics and the art of the graphic novel during the summer at the School of Visual Arts. His work has been honored by the Society of Illustrators, 3x3, and Communication Arts, to name a few.

That Will Be The Day

"That Will Be The Day" is a mesmerizing audio/visual collaboration between composer Aldo Aréchar and motion graphics artist Matthew DiVito. Based in Boston, MA, DiVito uses Adobe After Effects and Cinema 4D to create his superb motion graphics work, and his abstract, soft-focus approach flawlessly complements Aréchar's sweeping instrumental compositions.

Andy Gilmore's Kaleidoscopic Visions

NYC-based artist Andy Gilmore is an undisputed master of color and geometric composition. His work is often characterized as polychromatic and hypnotic, although it could just as well be described as visually acoustic, his often complex arrangements referencing the scales and melodies in music. Gilmore's journey toward his masterful style unfolded through a dogged pursuit of education through practical experience, noting the bookstores, bakeries, and theaters where he worked as more influential than his formal schooling.

Cheemy Boey, known to most as "Boey," found himself doodling on his cup in a coffee shop when he didn't have any paper to jot down his ideas. Pleased with the results he began sketching on cups, producing an awesome collection of Sharpie styofoam cup illustrations! They can now be purchased in his Etsy shop or through his website.

We are enjoying the work of Fernando Moraes and Roane Ferreira this morning. Working under the collective title, Imarginal, the duo work on a variety of surfaces from, cotton fabric, markers, and even magnifiers on paper, wood, or walls. Some of their pieces take over 3 months to make and measure over 3 feet wide...

Mike Hughes is a fine artist and illustrator based in Scotland. His illustrations are heavily influenced by BMX and skate culture, while his paintings investigate abstraction through the expansion of simple imagery. Hughes sees no relation between the two but enjoys the oscillation between high and low brow aesthetics. He lives and works in Aberdeen.

We just came across some impressive new pieces by South African street artist Faith47, including a new mural up in London entitled 'London. You Beast.' Based in Cape Town, Faith47's works of art can be found on both city and gallery walls worldwide, with pieces and exhibits in Europe, America, Australia and her native South Africa. Her works often incorporate the grit of the urban environment, testaments to finding the beauty in the harsh realities of city life.
