This morning we take a look at the hyperrealistic paintings of Venice and Udine-based artist Vania Comoretti. Her drawings are created using mixed techniques: water-colour, Indian ink and pastel on paper. Vania attended several courses in advertising graphics before graduating in Restoration and Painting from teh Venice School of Fine Arts.

Croatia-born, Norway-based tattoo, digital, and fine artist Dino Tomic has been studying the human eyes with a series of hyperrealistic drawings using colored pencils. According to Dino there are no secrets, "just layers and layers of color tricking your brain in[to] thinking this is real."

We have posted the hyperrealistic sculptures of London-based Ron Mueck before. His first major exhibition since 2005 opened today at the Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain today.   By meticulously painting layers of epoxy resin with acrylics, Singapore-based artist Keng Lye has produced works of art that float somewhere between painting and sculpture. Each piece can consist of patiently executed layers which are necessary to create the sense of depth they have. The series is titled Alive Without Breath.  

We know that hyperreal has been the talk of the Internet for years now, but what we have been liking recently is the addition of process works in regards to hyperreal artists. UK-based Kelvin Okafor pencil artists has great skill, and he calls himself a "passionate penciled artist. Highly interested in detail and precision."

Lee Price has attained a Bachelor of Fine Art from Moore College of Art in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Since then, she has made some impressive photo-realist paintings- primarily depicting a bizarrely erotic past-time- consuming sweets in the bathtub. Now, I'm not one to judge, and I've been known to bring a cocktail or two with me to the tub- but a full cake, or 6 pints of ice cream?? Quite curious...

Creating an interesting wrinkled, crumpled paper effect while using oil on canvas, Stefania Fersini recreates photoreal fashion magazine portraits as a comment on excess and waste. "I’m fed up of going fast, tired of the excesses and superficiality. I need to paint to slow down. I take time off, to meditate, to fast from what is too much. To contemplate beauty, where there is some. I copy because the solution to excess is not to create 'new'."

JKB Fletcher is a working artist from the UK, living in Melbourne, Australia. "My hopes are for Australia to provide a new cultural influence to my work and a maturity only developed through experience. My paintings address questions of whether photorealism or hyperrealism is anything more than a photograph with oil based paint. Using ‘reality’ and sensuality, Surface, texture, contrast and form to provoke thoughts and sensations of physicality and beauty" he states.

What we wrote on January 8, 2012: Argentinian-painter Diego Gravinese creates hyperreal oil on canvas and acrylic paintings that at first we thought were a series of photographs. The works are highly detailed, capturing both mundane and bizarre scenes in photo realistic style.
