Only days after Hurricane Sandy left areas of Manhattan and surrounding boroughs crippled from it’s water surge, twin brothers, How and Nosm, took on the famed Bowery Mural wall creating a highly-detailed piece. A number of light bulbs can be seen with black smoke coming out along with rising water, appropriate additions. The duo Adds to the long list of artists that have created work on this wall including Keith Haring, Barry Mcgee, Os Gemeos, Faile, and more.

An ambitious project involving numerous international contemporary artists and disused Military airplanes is set to make it’s debut on January 28th at the Pima Art and Space Museum in Tucson, Arizona. The Boneyard Project: Return Trip will include artists Andrew Schoultz, How & Nosm, Nunca, Retna, and Faile who will all paint their own individual airplanes, along with cockpit from Saner. We took a trip to the desert to get you these exclusive preview photos.

We took the long, one block hike from the Underbelly Project preview to check out all the murals of Wynwood Walls, which were nicely lit for those who wanted to take some night shots. Ryan McGinness, Retna, Date Farmers, How and Nosm, Interesni Kazki, Saner, Jeff Soto, Shepard Fairey, and huge roster of others all have murals in the Wynwood area.

Achtung!, an exhibition of new works by twims How & Nosm opened this past Saturday at Known Gallery in Los Angeles. The exhibition featured both paintings and installations, and builds off the energy of the murals the duo painted in LA recently. Photos and more after the jump…

Six days of painting and plenty of red, white, and black were needed to complete this large-scale mural by How and Nosm in the Arts District in downtown Los Angeles. The two artists will be displaying their work at Known Gallery this Saturday, October 15 in Los Angeles.

With a little over two decades of painting that began with graffiti, German twins How & Nosm now create a more illustrated mural based Street Art, tightly defining their style by stripping it back to essential lines, textures, and colorways.

Brazilian artist, Nunca, just sent us some pictures on the plane he has been working on for the Boneyard Project (which we previewed this week on the site). Nunca is known for his original styled street work, but working on a navy plane affords him a whole new format to work with. More images after the jump . . .

We just got this email from our friend and Mexico City based artist, Saner, who along with Retna and Nunca and How & Nosm, will be part of The Boneyard Project coming in the Summer of 2011. As the trailer states, "The Boneyard Project is not simply a unique opportunity to give major contemporary artists an amazing canvas of being able to make art out of a plane, it is a chance for us all to examine our own cultural relationship to airplanes and to the archetypal ideal of traveling through the skies."
