Neopopstreetfunk is pleased to announce Neopopstreetfunk 4, a group exhibition of original paintings and mixed media showing at Gallery M Squared in Houston Heights. In this, its fourth year, the boys behind the Best of Houston award-winning pop and street art event have outdone themselves yet again. Showcasing new work from 28 visual artists of every variation, Nicky Davis and Kevin Sechelski continue to set new standards in the Houston art scene with their iconoclastic, irreverent shows.

Sometimes we wonder when we see work like Houston-based Kevin Peterson, with his ability to recreate photorealistic quality paintings with graffiti included, what sort of graff artist he would be? Obviously, we can only assuem he would have some success given these painitings.

In today’s News Outta Texas and Not Because of South-By comes the Promethean 10-person Okay Mountain collective, who’ve installed at the University of Houston’s Blaffer Art Museum and therefore successfully integrated clever examination of consumerist thought into higher education. We had been looking for pictures of the new Kenny Scharf mural at Houston and Bowery in Manhattan, the one that went over the Barry McGee and one-day Sacer tribute, and the good people of Curated (a great art and culture site in its own right), posted the best shots we have seen so far.
