A fantastic statement on global pollution, Israeli artist Gal Weinstein has created these amazing sculptures of tires going up in flames. The works sit at 4 meters high and made of wax, wool, polyester, Styrofoam and graphite. The work was on display at Art Basel, Kunsthaus Baselland in Switzerland (22 September – 13 November 2011).

Top 25 Album Covers Outside Lands 2012

Top List // Friday, August 10, 2012
As you may know by now, we are heading to SF's historic Golden Gate Park this weekend (August 10—12) as curators of all the artwork at the 2012 Outside Lands Music and Art Festival. Seeing that we work with a bunch of artists who make album cover artwork for some of the biggest bands in the world, we decided to celebrate Outside Lands by ranking our favorite album covers of those bands playing at this year's festival. That means Neil Young, Stevie Wonder, The Walkmen, Grandaddy... just go and see for yourself.

The Glass Bottom Pool 24-Stories Tall

Juxtapoz // Friday, August 10, 2012
We don't normally marvel at swimming pools on this site, but when we saw this one today, we couldn't help but think this was the swimming pool of Bruce Wayne type parameters. At the Holiday Inn Shanghai Pudong Kangqiao (yes you read it right, the Holiday Inn) there resides a glass bottomed pool, 24-stories high. Yes, you can see what imminent death looks like while in swim trunks.

Moebius x Alejandro Jodorowsky "Les Yeux du Chat"

Juxtapoz // Friday, August 10, 2012
We have been searching about these works that we saw from the late great Moebius when we were researching his work after his death earlier this year, and we finally found out yesterday that the work was Moebius in collaboration with Alejandro Jodorowsky for a small run comic Les Yeux du Chat. We read that it was made to be a gift to staff and friends of Les Humanoïdes Associés.

Roa's Mural Eaten Up in Chicago

Street Art // Wednesday, August 08, 2012
One of Roa’s most recent murals shows a giant animal with a massive chunk bitten out of him, yet from another angle it looks fully intact. This one was painted in Chicago and you see it in person off 16th St. in Pilsen.

Face Mugs

Juxtapoz // Wednesday, August 08, 2012
We are going to be honest; this could potentially be the best invention we have seen in a long time. Some cure diseases, others find ways to artistically make sure you can eat cookies and donuts seemlessly with your coffee and tea. Pure genius. Pure ingenuity. We may order 10.

Portraits From Crayons: The Work of Christian Faur

Juxtapoz // Wednesday, August 08, 2012
It is one thing to draw portraits with crayons, and it is another thing to arrange the tips of crayons in such a way as to create a photorealistic portrait. Christian Faur does the latter, where he arranges the tips of crayons, stacked straight up, into pixel-like compositions that act as portraits. The results are quite impressive.

New Mattias Adolfsson Sketchbook Works

Juxtapoz // Tuesday, August 07, 2012
It is no secret, we love the illustrative works of Swedish artist, Mattias Adolfsson. And, again, no secret that one of our favorite past times is looking in the Moleskines of our favorite illustrators, because, sometimes, that is where the real pirate's treasure lies. For Adolfsson, this is no exception.
