Working With Feathers: The Art of Kate MccGwire

Juxtapoz // Sunday, September 09, 2012
Kate MccGwire's practice probes the beauty inherent in duality, exploring the play of opposites - at an aesthetic, intellectual and visceral level - that characterises the way we conceive the world. She does this by appealing to our essential duality as human being, to our senses and our reason, and by drawing on materials capable of embodying a dichotomous way of seeing, feeling, and thinking.

Os Gemeos x ARYZ: Completed Mural in Poland

Juxtapoz // Saturday, September 08, 2012
Last week we posted photos of Aryz and Os Gemeos beginning a collaborative mural in Lodz, Poland for the Urban Forms Festival. This was the first time the three artists had worked on a wall together. While they have all spent a significant amount of time painting large walls on lifts around the world, expecting something magnificent was really not far fetched.

Illustration // Saturday, September 08, 2012
Juxtapoz favorite Wes Lang recently put out this gnarly print in conjunction with his artwork for the Grateful Dead Spring 1990 box set, though it's safe to say this piece is so good that Deadheads and GD detractors alike can enjoy.

Juxtapoz // Thursday, September 06, 2012
We want to rave a bit right now. We love it when we see a great approach to illustration, especially when its based on a photograph, and the work that Iceland's Siggi Eggertsson completed for the Icelandic bank, Landsbankinn, are some of our favorite works we have seen in illustration this year.
