Incredible Pumpkin Carvings by Ray Villafane

Juxtapoz // Saturday, October 27, 2012
Tis the season to get your carving skills on, and nobody does it better than Ray Villafane. Having appeared on the CBS Evening News, Martha Stewart Show, and carved pumpkins at the White House, Ray has also won two back-to-back Food Network Challenges in the category of, you guessed it, pumpkin carving. Dennis McNett's "HALLO-WOLFBAT" @ House of Vans, Brooklyn

Juxtapoz // Wednesday, October 10, 2012
We just had our pre-Halloween costume party with Alex Pardee this past weekend, but we think if you happen to be in Brooklyn on October 31, Dennis McNett's "HALLO-WOLFBAT" installation/performance/exhibition/party would be something you should definitely spend time at. Coming soon to the House of Vans...

Pardee's Pick: Halloween Issue Portrait Outtakes by Chloe Rice

Juxtapoz // Wednesday, October 03, 2012
One of the best parts of working on the Halloween issue was editing it. Evan, myself and Trent, the art director, spent weeks tightening up the layout, moving articles around, coming up with a color scheme, deleting all of the "umms", "likes" and awkward pauses from everyones interviews...

Pardee's Pick: The Art of Shawn Pacheco

Juxtapoz // Sunday, September 30, 2012
Whenever I rant to people who haven't seen his art, the way I always describe the work of Bay Area illustrator Shawn G. Pacheco (SGP) tends to go something like this: "Imagine if a real cartoon character, like Bugs Bunny, Stimpy, or Finn were inspired by OTHER cartoons and spent their free time drawing fucked up NEW cartoons."

Pardee's Picks: The Art of Matthew Bone (NSFW)

Juxtapoz // Wednesday, September 26, 2012

On Saturday, October 6 at Mars Bar in San Francisco, Juxtapoz and the Zerofriends team will be hosting a party at Mars Bar, a costume party, a costume party for which Alex will be judging you and giving the best costume a prize.

The Art of Allison Sommers

Juxtapoz // Sunday, September 23, 2012
I have been drawn to Allison Sommers' work since the moment I laid eyes on it simply because I had never seen anything like it before. I still haven't. Nothing screams juxtaposition more than Allison's seamless blend of soft and disgusting.

Pardee's Pick: Top 25 Painted Posters

Top List // Wednesday, September 05, 2012
Photoshop should be proud of itself. As a nerdy child growing up in the 80's, Photoshop was bullied by everyone from older traditional artists to graphic designers who loved painstakingly cutting out letters and transferring textures.
