Genieve Figgis's work has been described as "Roccoco paintings left out to rot," but we beg to differ. Some of these trippy, drippy figurative paintings are remixes of specific historical painting, but their vibe is super fresh and funny.

"Neanderthal Jeans" is Eddie Martinez's second show with half gallery following our "Studio Drawings" exhibition in September 2012. In an essay for his monograph (PictureBox), writer Glenn O'Brien compared Martinez's artwork to the jaundiced eye of de Kooning, reminding us that the eye is a door which swings both ways.

Wes Lang is always putting together some bodies of work, the type of paintings that the bad biker guys in Pee Wee Herman's Big Adventure would love. This Fall, Lang will return to HALF Gallery with Blessings, a new body of work that will again look at the history of tattoo flash, imagery from the Old West, and even a little old school pornography. For the kids. We gathered a collection of Lang's work from the past year for you to check out... but go see it in person after November 7th.

One of our favorite NYC-based artists, Wes Lang, is set to open a new solo show, Here Comes Sunshine, at the Lower East Side's Half Gallery this May 17, 2012. We follow Lang's blog closely, and he is good about updating it with oldies and newbies, and we recommend spending some time looking at his Americana meets tattoo meets stream of consciousness. And it is always good.

Terry Richardson opened a new exhibition, MOM DAD, at Half Gallery in NYC this past weekend, and we stopped by to see if we could get Terry to give us a thumbs up. He did. And then we looked at the photos.

Terry Richardson, always one to bring his parents into his body of photography work, will be opening a new exhibition in conjunction with a new monograph, Mom Dad, at Half Gallery in NYC tonight, 11.11.11. Terry's late father, Bob Richardson, was a renowned fashion photographer, and his mom Annie still lives in Ojai, California, where Terry grew up.

Ed Templeton opened a really great photo exhibition, Teenage Kissers, at Half Gallery in NYC's Lower East Side on Thursday night. Again, a huge crowd came out, spilling onto the street, with Ed, CR Stecyk III, and Glen E Friedman amongst those in attendance.

Tonight, June 23rd, in NYC (and part of a busy evening), Ed Templeton will open a solo show, Teenage Kissers, at Half Gallery. The exhibition, co-curated by Arty Nelson, will feature Templeton photographs of what we can only assume is teenagers kissing.
