Today, September 5th, 2014 Ever Gold Gallery in San Francisco will be presenting Guy Overfelt’s ongoing conceptual project Free Bird: The Never Ending Joy Ride, 1998-2014. The car is a road and not an object. It is a vector, connector, and route within systems of relations that make meaning, identity, and political economy. It is an attachment: a life-making prosthetic.

Tonight, Ever Gold Gallery in San Francisco will showcase for the second and last time the work of conceptual artist, Guy Overfelt. The show entitled #BLACKLIGHT is somewhat a mystery and in the words of the gallery, “You’ll never see Guy Overfelt’s face in San Francisco nor his work after this exhibition.” It may be worth a peek, you just might be in for a surprise.

As you know by now and from our Instagram, Juxtapoz is curating the art and spending the weekend at Outside Lands in San Francisco, and despite the freezing temps (glad we brought our hoodies to sell at the booth), we caught up with Dabs Myla, Mike Shine, Sam Flores, Guy Overfelt, Ricky Watts, and all sorts of Jux fans who stopped by our booth.

From what we gather, Assed Out and the Mini Dramas is a collaborative conceptual art piece that will transform Queens Nails Project into an experimental pool hall. Hey, we have some pool talent at Juxtapoz! Created by local artists Guy Overfelt and Andrew McClintock who both graduated from SFAI. The show is so cleverly described as, “This project, like much conceptual art...what you describe is not the sort of collaborative project that can be intelligently written about, even briefly, without seeing..."
