UTAH & ETHER In Hong Kong Video

Graffiti // Thursday, May 17, 2012
Oink Art Ltd just released another video documenting the globetrotting graffiti duo, Utah and Ether, who are featured in our current June 2012 #137 issue.  This time the couple are exploring the streets of Hong Kong and testing locals to see how much they can get away with.  Watch as they confuse random pedestrians, many stopping to watch and others telling them to stop.

Stay Brushin, Stay Flossin

Graffiti // Thursday, May 17, 2012
Whether Cesar had to paint that tooth character because he was painting the side of a dentist’s office or not, we like subtle reminders.  After a recent first visit in 8 years and only $250 being spent, that religious regime or brushing, and flossing paid off.

Curvature Formations

Graffiti // Thursday, May 17, 2012
There is all kinds of trickery going on in this piece by Curve, especially with the fill-in and the 3-d both being black there. Next level.

This right here has got some strangeness to it, but it makes all kinds of logical sense.  Weird hazy blue brick background…what?

Navy8 x Gable

These two got a whole lot of dots going on here.  Reminds me of Alka Seltzer doing its fizzy thing.

Taipei is one long jet-lagged flight away from where we rest our head, but if you are on the island of Taiwan this Saturday night there is a good art show to check out.  Graffiti writers, Optimist and Stuey, will be showing new work at the AMPM Gallery in a show entitled Time Flies in Taipei. Optimist sent over a video and some exclusive preview shots of work that will be on display.  Go!

Marc Jacobs > Kidult

Graffiti // Wednesday, May 16, 2012
The fire extinguisher prankster who has been blasting the storefronts of many known high end fashion boutiques in frustration of a culture becoming commercialized, recently decorated the store front of Marc Jacobs with the word “art” in Soho, Ny.  In a crafty retaliation, Marc Jacobs printed the image of the storefront on a t-shirt and is now retailing them for $689, with a “Kidult signed” t-shirt being a little cheaper for the consumer, ouch.

Yes, even you can read it and you mother can read it, and your grandma can read it, and anyone with bad eyesight can read it.  It say D A S H E R and it’s good.

We really enjoy these weird candy-colors Seb is choosing to paint his pieces recently.
