Wall Writers Kickstarter

Graffiti // Thursday, August 02, 2012
The vast amount of Kickstarter projects is overwhelming and in the truth is the majority of them are not worth funding. However, it’s easy for us to support the documentation of some of first graffiti writers from 1967-1972. Here is a reasonable project for archival and history purposes relating to a creative subculture. And Roger Gastman has done an exceptional job at everything else in the documentation department.

Mecro

Graffiti // Wednesday, August 01, 2012
A common occurrence for someone who frequents train yards is to see the name “Mecro” in big bold letters, always very clean, looking similar to the following. No troubles reading this passing by at 60mph.

Pimp My Building

Graffiti // Wednesday, August 01, 2012
Whoever owns this building in Chicago chose a quality cast of artists informally trained in the art of decorating exteriors. The buildings first paint additions started with the Skewville roller and the Roa characters. Now, the building has been officially pimped and covered with additional work from Reyes, Pose, Omens, and Amuse.

Kaaaa Putttt

Graffiti // Wednesday, August 01, 2012
Not too much, but the letters are oh so funky. An ill color scheme that matches the wall and everything is just about right. In the piecing department of graffiti, we couldn’t ask for much more.  Kaput has the touch.

New Lush Walls

Street Art // Tuesday, July 31, 2012
Satan’s threats and demands on one wall, AK-47 totting dolphins and bazooka wielding dinosaurs on another. Duel guns in the mouth? Lush has been busy, very busy, painting all things offensive and borderline retarded. And we like it.

Seb in Paris

Graffiti // Tuesday, July 31, 2012
Seb’s summer has consisted of emptying cans of spray paint on the walls of Paris, in a variety of popping colors and with some very connected letters.

Karate

Graffiti // Tuesday, July 31, 2012
Graffiti names like Karate are the kind you like to hear and say and see. The name is rad, the letters are cool looking, and if the person using the name has talent, well, it’s a win-win.
