Italian artist Laurina Paperina lives in Brooklyn and makes dark, funny, comic paintings depicting imagined scenes from pop culture, and imaginary murders of blue chip artists. In her mind, painting her favorite artists' demise is a compliment—she likes their work so much she wants to kill them!

I was up in Portland a few months ago eating donuts and playing dress up at Upper Playground when I crossed paths with an artist named Hill Hudson who, after talking for a few minutes, handed me a sticker that was cooler than any sticker I had seen since the Zorlac and Santa Cruz skateboard days. When I say cool, however, I mean cool as in "disgusting."

Tom O'Hern is artist and illustrator based in Hobart, Tasmania with a strong graphic sense of decrepit gore and decay. His high-contrast, sickly rendered portraits are disease ridden, wounded and bandaged with a healthy dose of gortesque humor thrown in for good measure. My new favorite Tasmanian.
