The virtual has a physical component. We think of Google so often as just something in the virtual world of cyberspace, that we tend to forget it has to exist, especially in data transmission and storage, as a physical space. Photographer Connie Zhou documents the Google data centers, and they appear to some of the most candy coated data centers you will ever see. 

Let's face it, Google is our dictionary, our library, our research database, and our go to for just about anything from recipes to driving directions. Who uses encyclopedias anymore? A physical dictionary? Not us. It is a bit sad that these objects are becoming obsolete, but so it goes (to quote Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse-Five).

Google’s headquarters in Mountain View, Ca has been collecting a variety of unique sculptures over the years. The most recent addition is an Ice Cream Sandwich character to celebrate the unveiling of their next operating system, known as Android Ice Cream Sandwich.

It feels a little odd that we found these Social Media Propaganda Posters via Google+, but these posters by Aaron Wood are quite well done. Guess what? We all are involved in social media in some way, we all know it can be terribly "herd-ish" of us, and we enjoy getting a dose of medicine about it, too. Leave it to social media to tell us how bad social media is.
