On his work, Pierre Paulin says, “I was aiming to show just how far we could make modernity go,” and his furniture reflects this aim. Well, at least, it reflected this aim in the 1950s and 60s. In 2008, Paulin’s family created the firm called Paulin, Paulin, Paulin, which creates limited editions of the designer’s work that never passed beyond the prototype stage.

Paris Fashion Week already has a buzz and turns one of the world's best cities into even more a hotspot. We were excited to be in Paris this past weekend for a special showcase and worldwide launch party for the Takashi Murakami x Vans Vault collection at Galerie Perrotin's Hotel du Grand Veneur space in the Le Marais neighborhood. Showcasing a special talk with Takashi, the entire collection of shoes, clothing, decks and some custom-artwork from the artist, it was a great reason to enjoy Paris for a few days.

This past month, Galerie Perrotin, Hong Kong, presented “Vertical Color of Sound”, an exhibition by Ryan McGinley featuring a selection of twelve large-scale photographs taken from the famed photographer's annual summer road trip. The exhibition was McGinley’s first solo exhibition in China and his second show with the gallery.

Wow, this looks like a great show. A mixture of erotica, fantasy, and old fashioned saliciousness from Chinese painter Chen Fei is now on display at Galerie Perrotin in Hong Kong. The new exhibition is comprised of seven paintings mainly executed in 2013, and is a record of Chen’s major transition in life, including his first taste of independent adult living in 30 years.

Another busy year for NYC-based photographer Ryan McGinley, and just fresh off a great exhibition at San Francisco's Ratio 3, he is now in Paris with a new body of work, Body Loud, at Galerie Perrotin. The exhibition is comprised of over twenty brand new, primarily large-format photographs taken over the course of last summer. This is his first show with the gallery.

If the year of KAWS hasn't gone well already for the Brooklyn-based artist, he will be opening concurrent exhibitions at Mary Boone Gallery and Galerie Perrotin's new NYC space this weekend, November 2, 2013. Some people would like to have one show. Some people think two would be nice. Some would like just one show in NYC. One in Chelsea? Even better? How about two shows at Mary Boone and Galerie Perrotin, at the same time? On the same day? That is a lot of champagne. Oh, and he has a museum show in Philly right now. There's that trifecta we were looking for!

Another highlight from the Art Basel Hong Kong week was Takashi Murakami's new exhibition at Galerie Perrotin in central Hong Kong. In celebration of the gallery's 20-year relationship with Mr Murakami, this is the Japanese artist's 9th showing with Perrotin. This particular new body of work features Murakami's "famous alter-ego Mr. Dob and self-portraits of the artist surrounded by his emblematic characters including Kaikai and Kiki with epure backgrounds of skulls pattern."
