And what a beautiful book this is. AMMO Books has just published perhaps one of the most stunning books we have seen all year, Eames: Beautiful Details, one that we are very happy ended up in our offices yesterday. Not only an in-depth, 400+ page look into their innovative and groundbreaking furniture design, Beautiful Details covers Charles and Ray Eames' extensive exploration in textiles, product, graphic design, toys, film, and photography.

Allen Jones' table (made in 1969) from the late-playboy Gunter Sach's collection sold for $1.6 million at Sotheby's. Furniture from Jones' soft porn line, which depicts furniture-sculptures, made with female mannequins in full bondage attire and the table which sold for such a high price was part of a series of erotic furniture pieces he was making around this same time.

You are always told to reuse and recycle. For Tim Delger, that means making these really artistic, road signs turned furniture pieces. Personally, we are quite fond of this Pedestrian Table.

The mega Eames Furniture revival is a good thing for the art of lifestyle. If you want to appreciate good home or office furniture design, Eames is sort of A1 in where to start. Their classic Lounge Chair and Ottoman is the subject of this video, "The Making of the Eames Lounge Chair." Watch it being manufactured in the Vitra Atelier on the Vitra Campus in Weil am Rhein, Germany. Watch after the jump . . .

Hypebeast just produced a new short on Amsterdam-based illustrator, designer, and fine artist, Parra. We had Parra design a custom, bubbling cover for us in March 2008, and we always keep up with what he has going with Rockwell, his fine art, or any other Parra project. The recent furniture endeavors have been some of our favorite pieces. Watch the short after the jump . . .

Our favorite Dutchman, Parra, has teamed with Toykyo to create "The Fly New Coffee Table." This looks like something you would find in an eccentric millionaire's house in 1985. This is the best part of Less Than Zero and Wall Street right here. And we like it. More images and detailed shots after the jump . . .
