The Hyperrealistic Works of Franz Gertsch

Juxtapoz // Tuesday, June 03, 2014
If you have followed the Juxtapoz site over the past few years, you would know that we are in a resurgence of hyperrealistic painters making fantastic work. So we might as well look at one of the great hyperrealistic painters of the past 50 years, with Swiss painter Franz Gertsch having a museum show at the Abattoirs Museum in Toulouse, France through the end of August 2014. If you remember, Gertsch had a fantastic series of paintings of Patti Smith completed in the 1970s that have been shown around the world and at Gagosian Gallery.
