We have been admirers of Wes Lang at Juxtapoz for a long time, especially his fantastic contributions to the Grateful Dead over the past year. Now, the tattoo and fine artist has contributed some flash designs fro Sleepy Jones and a new Jasper Boxer short look. Imagine the surprise from a significant other if this is what you are showing off on a first date... you will be a winner, trust us. 

Because the only thing better than great flash is flash adorned in flash... Confused? So are we. But there's no denying that Italian tattooist Davide Andreoli's jam-packed flash sheets are just as inspiring as they are bizarre. You can't always judge a book by its cover, unless its assured that there's a five o'clock shadow and abnormally long underarm hair going on there. Thanks to Hexagram Tattoo and this bit of freaky flash done by Job de Quay- an Amsterdam based tattoo artist. Love.

Suffice it to say, we've never seen flash like this. We love the way that Joel Albertsson of Göteborg Classic Tattooing switches up his palette and uses the visual vocabulary of traditional tattoo flash to depict very non-traditional imagery. From depictions of ritualistic and "primitive" objects to literally blue Blues musicians, Albertsson's distinctive sheets of flash are amazing works of art.  

Why bother with all that family, over-eating mumbo jumbo this holiday season when you can get drunk by yourself, drop by your local Chinese joint, then head on over to your buddy's house for some good old fashioned Turkey Leg tattooing?!  Then you can talk about it all year long until Thanksgiving falls upon us again... Sounds like my kind of party.

Here are some tattoos and flash by the legendary tattoo artist Daniel Higgs. Known for combining a traditional aesthetic with super-saturated, wacky images, Higgs is widely considered one of the tattoo greats. Although images of his work are notoriously hard to come by, you can see more (and read a great interview with Ed Hardy) here.

We came across some beautiful tattoo flask from the skilled hand of Sky James over at Magnetic Tattoo. His signature style is visible throughout his work, with a consistent bold use of color and form. Amazingly laid out flash sheets with everything from demonic vixens to charging buffaloes and a few daggers for good measure.

Duncan X has been tattooing at the esteemed London Tattoo studio Into-You since 1997. His numerous sheets of black and gray flash, with thick scrimshaw-esque line work and hilarious themes, all create internal narratives that make each sheet a self-sufficient work of art...but obviously still rad as tattoos.

We are really digging this flash by tattoo artist D.E. Hill -- nothing more badass than a panther head pierced by a bunch of bloodied intersecting daggers. Hill works at Searchlight Tattoo in Warner Robins GA.

Here are a few sheets of sculptural black and gray flash from the talented Max Fecondo, from Newcastle, Australia. Fecondo is a master of traditional tattoo imagery with his signature heavy hand-style apparent in his work.
