FIFTY24SF Gallery in San Francisco will be hosting Augustus Thompson's first solo show, "One Man," opening tonight, Friday, March 11th. Camille Rose Garcia opens a new solo exhibition, "Snow White and the Black Lagoon" in Los Angeles, California at the Michael Kohn Gallery ths Saturday (March 12), and she sent us a video of her painting for the new show. As we wrote earlier, the "show plays off of the classic Grimm Brothers’ story, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarves”, with this series of paintings and drawings creating a modern day allegory for our delusional relationship with nature." As our April 2011 Art In the Streets issue is getting ready to hit newsstands, we look back at one of the great convergences of scenes when hip-hop, punk, and graffiti fused into this music video. Here you have The Clash, Fab 5 Freddy, and Futura 2000 all together on one track, with graffiti images being flashed and artists being name-dropped by both Fred and Futura. Video after the jump . .

Michel Gondry directs Living Sisters' "How Are You Doing?" video

We haven't spoke about Michel Gondry since our feature with the "The Green Hornet" director in our January 2011 issue, but we just saw that he directed a music video for Los Angeles-based trio, The Living Sisters. The video for "How Are You Doing?" features some trademark Gondry dreamlike sequences, including some airplance turbulence, laughter, and a house burning down. Watch after the jump . . .
