Rene Almanza is a Mexico-based artist (featured in our October 2010 issue) whose beautifully frantic linework work exudes urgency, passion, and agitation. He is currently working with the Spanish publishing house Sirpus, in conjunction with the linguisticts department of the Colegio de México, to create a series of illustrated bilingual books on the history of the Zapoteca and the Oaxacan peoples.

We went by LUSH's exhibition at FIFTY24SF Gallery last night to shoot a few preview photos, and the Melbourne artist told us that he felt more comfortable picking a few out from his stash. So, we got nudity, because LUSH built a peep show, complete with stripper pole in the gallery for LUSH Sells His Soul in SF.

The controversial (and often polarizing) Melbourne, Australia-based LUSH continues his stay in California with a new solo exhibition at San Francisco's FIFTY24SF Gallery, opening this Friday, August 5. The show will feature a fully-installed peep show, in collaboration with San Francisco's iconic nude revue, the Lusty Lady. Some photos NSFW . . .

We just got these photos sent to us, of Spanish artists San and Escif painting a discarded something in Death Valley, California. The two have been on tour throughout California and further south, hitting Los Angeles, Death Valley, the Salton Sea, and they have even got themselves into Colorado Canyon, Arizona.

This past Saturday night, we headed out to San Francisco's FIFTY24SF Gallery for the exhibition, In My Room, by train-hopping photographer, painter, and graffiti artist, Swampy. Even as we finished up his feature in our current July issue of the magazine, we have seen a mystique around the artist grow and grow.
