Juxtapoz // Wednesday, May 16, 2012
Recently, graffiti writer Kidult tagged the front of the Marc Jacobs shop in downtown Manhattan and made it rather public, not only in the physical manifestation of the tag but also by tweeting it and publicizing it across the internet. Well, Marc Jacobs made a rather clever move in response to what could have been seen as an embarrassing incident.

How to Sweep By Tom Sachs (plus Tom Sachs x Nike Craft "Mars Yard Shoe")

Juxtapoz // Monday, May 14, 2012
Leading contemporary artist Tom Sachs has always had a fascination with space and space travel. We just didn't know he was going to create, with Nike, a Mars Yard Shoe, or an entire line of Nike gear to be worn when you are planning a trip to Mars. Just planning, not going. As Sachs notes on his site, "These shoes are built to support the bodies of the strongest minds in the aerospace industry." While they plan things.

The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier @ de Young, SF

Juxtapoz // Wednesday, May 02, 2012
One of the best exhibitions we saw in 2011, perhaps over the past few years, was the exquisite Alexander McQueen knock-out fashion turned fine art visionary show at the MET in NYC (can you tell we liked it?). With this in mind, we were excited to see how The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk would play out at the de Young Museum in San Francisco. After our run through, this is another solid fashion to fine art display that we recommend if you travel to SF this summer.

The Uniboob Dress

Juxtapoz // Saturday, March 24, 2012
'That dress is part of a couture art collection that's inspired by the notion of crisis. That dress in particular was inspired by the sexual crisis, so it's a dress that shows punishment and impairment—the breast is the focal point and everything around it is restricted. It's how I see the sexual crisis, personally, so it's putting an image to an emotion of mine, basically.' Gianni Molaro

WWII BOMBER JACKETS

Juxtapoz // Tuesday, March 20, 2012
Whether its the imagery, mottos or nostalgia these personalized World War II bomber jackets are nothing short of inspirational. The narrative that is told about each of the jackets and their respective owners is fascinating. Each of the jackets has a tremendous amount of personality, style and carry a handcrafted look that is just undeniably genuine. Those denim jackets from the 1980s got nothing on these, see more after the jump…
