We were checking BLU's website last night after finishing a little project with FAME Festival, and noticed he had updated his site with new notebook drawings. Because we are used to seeing BLU's drawings becoming multi-storied political commentary pieces, seeing his work on this scale is a great reminder of how talented the Italian artist is.

We just left Grottaglie, on our way to Nuart in Norway, but we went through some of our pictures from the past few days and compiled a few more from the town and FAME Festival. From the old ladies who showed us a few hidden walls, to the generous latte macchiato consumption, and the many Blu walls, all was well in Italy.

Last night, Grottaglie took on a whole new level energy as Fame Festival was officially opened to the public with the opening in the ceramics district. Most importantly, maps were handed out, and the city was crowded with street art enthusiasts walking and driving around the city to see the new additions to the public landscape this past summer.

After a long drive in the wee hours of the morning, Juxtapoz arrived in the beautiful hill town of Grottaglie in Southern Italy to attend the opening of FAME Festival. With just a few hours to run around the town before sleep called, we saw work by Escif, Blu, Vhils, Lucy McLauchlan, Nespoon, Os Gemeos, Sam 3, Swoon, and others.

We are getting closer to Grottaglie as we speak for the opening of FAME Festival on September 24, and we wanted to showcase the work of US-based MOMO, and some of the great installation pieces he did at FAME recently.

We are on our way to Fame Festival at the moment, and we just saw the new works that 108 did in Grottaglie. If you don't know about the Italian artist, 108, definitely someone to look up and get acquainted with. He completed this large mural in town, as well as some prints.

We are two days away from making our way to Fame Festival in Italy, and we are happy to see the newest contributions to the town by Spanish artist Sam3, always a favorite of Juxtapoz. Looks like Sam3 had a little fun with the people of Fame this year...

If we didn't already have a reason to be excited about going to Southern Italy for Fame Festival 2011 next week, we just saw the new work that Spanish artist (and February 2011 cover artist) Escif just completed in the town of Grottaglie. After the jump, watch the short videos of Escif working in Italy...
