Our good friends in Southern Italy, the Studio Cromie and FAME Festival crew, are about to set up a collaborative show with AKAY and Brad Downey that will open on December 14, 2013. As Angelo Milano of FAME told us, "It's the first non-boring show of the year!" Well, alright, we like the sound of that...

When you receive your August 2013 issue, you are going to find a feature on one of our favorite muralists/street artists/artists of the moment, MOMO. And as we cleverly time our interviews with specific milestones, we are happy to announce MOMO is going to open a solo show in Grottaglie, Italy on July 13, done with the great people behind Fame Festival and Studiocromie.

The Juxtapoz staff was unable to join the festivities at FAME Festival this year, but we had Jux friend Henrik Haven checking out the new murals in Grottaglie, Italy last week. Conor Harrington, Lucy McLauchlan, Ericailcane, Vhils, Boris Hoppek, Cyop e Kaf, and many others added to the town this year, with some of the strongest edition yet of FAME.

A bunch of street art festivals are going off in the world right now, Johannesburg, Italy, and Norway, and we just got a series of shots from the opening of FAME Festival in Grottaglie, Italy. Vhils, Ericailcane, Interesni Kazki, Lucy McLauchlan, and others all had work in the opening show to coincide with the street works across the town.

Last year at this time, we were traversing the streets of Grottaglie, Italy, enjoying FAME Festival and the murals that have gone up in the town over the past years. An interview with Angelo Milano of FAME and Studiocromie later, we have to enjoy this year's FAME from a distance, but we love what we are seeing from March 2010 subscriber cover artist, Ericailcane on the side of an apartment building.

Clocks slay time. That is a great line. Why I'm thinking about The Sound and the Fury at noon on a Friday, while watching Matt Watkins' wonderfully quiet and subtle short documentary on Lucy McLauchlan creating various art objects at FAME Festival, I actually have no idea. Except, this is definitely one of the better 4 minutes you will spend today, and has an overall message that will resonate; You. Must. Create. (Sorry YMC, but you copyrighted a good sentiment). Digression done, watch.

Another piece from the Interesni Kazki team that transports you to another time and space. AEC from the Ukrainian duo was in Grottaglie, Italy to paint this wall/building for Fame Festival 2012, but from the sound of it, this was a stressful piece. Punctured tires of the lift, stuck in the mud, and then, it didn't work. Lifts are stressful. Watch the video after the jump . . .

Last summer when we headed to Grottaglie, Italy for Fame Festival, one of the artists that stood out to us was Moneyless. His geometric, abstract murals and sculptures were both a surprise to see and hidden gems throughout the town. Of all the works around town, Moneyless made you think twice about function and its existence amogst the town. It looked seemless, but also mysterious. This year, Moneyless is back, and Fame has a nice video of his progress, as well as the making of his prints for Studiocromie.

The people/person at Studio Cromie in Grottaglie, Italy who organize and produce the fantastic public art festival, FAME, have just started a site-specific project of tee-shirts made in limited numbers at the Studio Cromie space. If you have ever been to Grottaglie, then you know how distinct and fantastic the various walls and buildings are, and Studio Cromie has captured the unique aesthetic on the tees. Video after the jump...

It is that time of the year... the 2012 edition of FAME Festival in Grottaglie, Italy has officially began to see some works appear on the streets, with Irish-born, London-based Conor Harrington kicking off with some outstanding street pieces. Harrington has been to FAME in prior years, but is it us, or is he just getting better, and better, and better? The October 2008 cover artist looks to have painted about 5 walls in town...
