We know that with the Academy Awards coming up, Banksy would be heading to Southern California to support, in his own way, the nomination of his film Exit Through the Gift Shop for Best Documentary Feature. And when in Hollywood, Lauren Conrad is bound to be the first person to spot, and Tweet, the newest Banksy piece.

We are trying to get you ready for the Academy Awards and Banksy's nomination for Best Documentary Feature with "Exit Through the Gift Shop." As if the masterplan was constructed this way all along, the Banksy-directed "Exit Through the Gift Shop," is nominated for an Oscar in the category of Best Documentary Feature. That is right, a street art film that Banksy made is nominated for an Academy Award. Somewhere in the UK, there is a character named Banksy who is laughing... More after the jump . . .

Perhaps the film that everyone wanted to pre-judge and dismiss as part of the perceived "over-hype" of Banksy turned out to be the biggest surprise of 2010. Not only was the film entertaining, funny, and controversial, but was actually a well-made, great bit of filmmaking. It transcended typical street art and art circles and became a film that masses could enjoy. Most people we spoke to, some of the early critics, even admired Banksy's 2010 project to reimagine the art world. More after the jump . . .

Exit Through the Gift Shop continues to have a strong year, as Banksy's film was nominated by the London Critics' Circle for the Breakthrough British Filmmaker award. Not bad for someone who came in halfway on the project (or so it seems). And on that front, Mr Banksy says the film is entirely true. More after the jump . . .
