Robot Erotica by Hajime Sorayama

Juxtapoz // Friday, February 17, 2012
Hajime Sorayama is a Japanese illustrator, known for his precisely detailed, erotic airbrush portrayals of women and feminine robots- and one of my all time favorite erotic artists. He often uses ideas from pin-up art, and re-creates them as furutistic chrome-plated gynoids in suggestive poses.

Pale Horse

Erotica // Friday, February 17, 2012
Serving as a poetic counterpoint to an earlier piece, "Dark Horse," artist F. Scott Hess created "Pale Horse," a powerful image of a black woman on a white steed, bolting through the night during a violent thunderstorm. It is a moment frozen in time; the horse is caught wildly galloping in mid-air, flashes of lightning reflecting off its pristine coat, as the woman lies peacefully across its back, the epitome of serenity and bliss.

Embracing Star

Erotica // Thursday, February 16, 2012
"This work is about being alone in the world and alone in my body," says sculptor and video artist Charlie Roberts. "What I have is time inside my skin; the passive digital lens records this time alone - alone in wonder." Roberts' short videos embrace the humor, awkwardness, and melancholy of the isolated man in his most basic state, revealing the child-like vulnerability inherent in us all.

Giuseppe Petrilli

Erotica // Thursday, February 16, 2012
Italian painter and illustrator Giuseppe Petrilli deftly combines the skillful artistry of classic gesture drawing with the technical craftsmanship of digital painting techniques in his series of nude illustrations. His work has been published in Playboy, Blue, and The World's Greatest Erotic Art of Today (Vol. 2-3), and he has participated in group and solo exhibitions all over the world, including in Los Angeles, Berlin, and Rome.

Jesse Fillingham

Erotica // Thursday, February 16, 2012
Jesse Fillingham is a Los Angeles-based illustrator who graduated with honors in 2010 from the Art Center of College of Design, earning a BFA in illustration. His work contains a frenetic, almost carnal energy that electrifies every line put to paper, creating a stark and dynamic universe of mythical beasts and mystical shamans constantly at odds.

Dark Horse

Erotica // Thursday, February 16, 2012
'The extremes of black and white, a nude in the cold and crashing through forests, human and animal... At first you think she is being chased, but she has a little smile on her lips. She seemed Irish, or Nordic to me. Elfin, maybe. The horse pose is from Muybridge’s famous galloping horse series, with some racehorse anatomy stolen from other sources.' A gorgeous painting from the F. Scott Hess Museum

Pulp Babes by Alessandro Biffignandi

Juxtapoz // Thursday, February 16, 2012
Alessandro Biffignandi was born in Rome in 1935, and supposedly he still lives there today. He painted hundreds of pulp covers and comic covers (aka “fumetti”) throughout the 50?s, 60?s and 70?s, occasionally even drawing for comics. In the 80?s he moved towards book cover illustration, and the 90?s found him focusing on calendar art. He is mostly a genre painter, focusing on the horror, spy, war, and science fiction genres.
