Easy Like A Desert Morning

Erotica // Sunday, February 19, 2012
It's mid-morning as the sun intensifies its glow, setting her mane of red hair aflame in the glittering light like a raging wildfire. The heat is rising in the desert; she opens the legs of her sheer, lacy jumpsuit, inviting a sudden light breeze to caress the farthest reaches of her body, entreating our panting gaze to come closer and act upon our basest desires. Robot Erotica by Hajime Sorayama

Juxtapoz // Friday, February 17, 2012
Hajime Sorayama is a Japanese illustrator, known for his precisely detailed, erotic airbrush portrayals of women and feminine robots- and one of my all time favorite erotic artists. He often uses ideas from pin-up art, and re-creates them as furutistic chrome-plated gynoids in suggestive poses.

Pale Horse

Erotica // Friday, February 17, 2012
Serving as a poetic counterpoint to an earlier piece, "Dark Horse," artist F. Scott Hess created "Pale Horse," a powerful image of a black woman on a white steed, bolting through the night during a violent thunderstorm. It is a moment frozen in time; the horse is caught wildly galloping in mid-air, flashes of lightning reflecting off its pristine coat, as the woman lies peacefully across its back, the epitome of serenity and bliss.

Embracing Star

Erotica // Thursday, February 16, 2012
"This work is about being alone in the world and alone in my body," says sculptor and video artist Charlie Roberts. "What I have is time inside my skin; the passive digital lens records this time alone - alone in wonder." Roberts' short videos embrace the humor, awkwardness, and melancholy of the isolated man in his most basic state, revealing the child-like vulnerability inherent in us all.
