Haiiro Trash

Erotica // Thursday, December 06, 2012
If taking out the trash was always this exciting and involved perfectly sculpted legs, black stiletto's and provocative positions I'd be taking the trash out RIGHT NOW!! An impressive set of 3 exclusive sculptures made by the artist Sit in cooperation with Rob & Erik Hillenbrink. Photographed by Erik Hillenbrink. Sigh...

The Naked Human Ant Farm

Erotica // Thursday, December 06, 2012
If you've ever dreamed of what an ant farm would look like if all of the ants were replaced with fully nude (with the exception of some socks) human beings, David Peterman is here to answer your prayers. He asked 100 people to populate the ant farm to create this piece and displayed the finished Ant Farm at the Seattle Erotic Art Fest in June of 2012.  If the Ant Farm had been printed full size, it would be a structure 30 ft. high and 40 ft. wide- thats a lot of naked little ants.

Enchanted Doll Phenomenon

Erotica // Thursday, December 06, 2012
“The reason I love making dolls is because it’s such a multidisciplinary art form. I’m not content working in just one medium such as painting or sculpture, and dolls offer me a very diverse and satisfying tactile experience. To create a doll I get to do it all: sculpture, industrial design, painting, engraving, mold-making, drawing, metalwork, fashion and jewelry design. I want it all, or nothing!” Marina Bychkova

The Photography of Magdalena Wosinska

Erotica // Thursday, December 06, 2012
The work of Magdalena Wosinska is portrayed in a the same manner of a visual diary, adventurous and full of life.  'She is shooting everything from stunning nudes in barren Icelandic landscapes to the gritty fringes of the Californian skate and metal scenes. Her photos capture an incredible vibrance – a kind of seventies revival – young, bare and overwhelmingly, alive.'

While the rest of the Universe is at Art Basel in Miami right now, all I can do is sit here and dream of South Beach hot pants, Rollerblades, snow-cones and Cuban sandwiches (oh, and art too). Be sure to keep up with Juxtapoz as I'm sure there will be some recaps to all of the art Madness that is Art Basel Miami this week. In the meantime, a luscious image from Remember Paper to keep us dreaming...

This painting, 'Philosophy in the Bedroom' (1947) by surrealist painter René Magritte is a combination of two earlier paintings; Hommage to Mack Sennett and the Red Model series. The title is taken from Marquis de Sade's Philosophy in the Bedroom (1795) which begins: TO LIBERTINES: Voluptuaries of all ages, of every sex, it is to you only that I offer this work; nourish yourselves upon its principles: they favor your passions...
