His highly detailed illustrations are exquisitely gothic and layered with rich, erotic symbolism. The son of an art teacher, Zouravliov began painting with his mother’s art supplies...  

David Wright's Classic Erotica

  David Wright began his artistic career as an fashion illustrator in women’s weeklies before landing a commission with The Sketch magazine in 1941 to produce a series of pin-ups known as “Lovelies”. He produced more than 160 illustrations for the magazine depicting slim, elegant, alluring women in various states of undress, many of whom were based on his wife, Esme. The “Lovelies” were an enormous hit during the war and soon adorned every officer’s mess, bunker and dormitory across the country, with Wright receiving countless letters from appreciative soldiers...
