Here's a fun video to round out your Monday afternoon, and it might even inspire you to beat the heat and go skinny dipping. This series of animated walks and runs, created using Flash by German-born, London-based animator Felix Sputnik, is a simple yet impressive exercise in basic locomotive techniques, featuring various animated female models to demonstrate the physics of movement, including the sway and bounce of the naked body as it runs, walks, and skinny dips with gleeful abandon.

Pascaline Mini, aka Myth' of the Rainbow, is a graphic designer and illustrator based in Lille, France. The artist describes her work as "a fantasy space whose primary source draws from the extraordinary timeless icons of creation myths. Peter Driben's Unforgettable Pin Ups

Erotica // Monday, May 20, 2013
Peter Driben (b. 1903 - d. 1968) was a highly successful American pin up and glamor artist whose charmingly risqué illustrations were beloved by the American public from the beginning of WWII until the great baby boom of the 1950's. Although he is often overshadowed today by the likes of Alberto Vargas and Gil Elvgren, Driben's prolific output and popularity during his lifetime have firmly cemented him as one of the 20th century's great pin up artists, and his alluring creations continue to delight and titillate.

Murtagh takes skull and bones to another level, imbuing them with a bold and sexy attitude. Murtagh wields his craft with the deft hand of a graphic-designer-turned-illustrator, creating unique pieces we're very proud to show in our erotica section.

Subversive Cuts from Tom Gallant

Erotica // Friday, May 17, 2013
Armed with a sharp knife and an eye for intricate patterns, Tom Gallant uses hardcore porn as his canvas, creating detailed figures and stenciled ornamentation that recall the more constraining social and artistic attitudes of the late Victorian age.  As the artist explains, "I use pornography as a representation of our visual culture, the underlying ideas are used to connect the motifs and concepts, whether it is the idolatry of youth, flesh, sex, or the exploitation of the female and feminine. Pornography is the medium but not the message."

Ben Reyer's Impossible Objects

Erotica // Friday, May 17, 2013
"Women have always been my inspiration," says artist Ben Reyer, "but at the same time they confused me - for me they are impossible objects. We covet them, run after them and love them, live with them, but it hard to understand them." Reyer weaves such themes as the influence of media on society, the horrors of war, religion, and sexuality into his collage work, with the intent of bridging the gap between art and kitsch. His work will be on display at the NENI ART Collective in Vienna, Austria on May 29th, 2013, starting at 7:00 PM.

Collage Art by Ernesto Artillo
