Jenny Liz Rome + Daft Punk

Erotica // Tuesday, July 30, 2013
Jenny Liz Rome is an illustrator living in Sarnia Ontario, Canada. Jenny has been experimenting with multi-layered precesses, striving to develop surreal pop images by combining classing and modern modes of creation. Themes of femininity, raw animal nature and surreal fashion can often be found in her work. These illustrations throw sex and robots together in homage to the Robo-Disco reign of Daft Punk.

Ise Ananphada's Pin Ups

Erotica // Monday, July 29, 2013
Ise Ananphada is a freelance digital artist currently living and working in Bangkok, Thailand. Ananphada is known for her feminine and figurative style, using delicate details and pastel color palettes to create soft and elegant compositions. She also has a penchant for symbolism in her work, preferring the deep mystery of its meaning to pervade her illustrations rather than be immediately recognizable and understood. The passion Ananphada feels for her art is most perceptible through the depth of expression in the eyes of her beautifully rendered women, full of soul and subtlety.

Monday Sucks

Erotica // Monday, July 29, 2013
There's no two ways about it: Monday sucks. It's another working week and, like all the weeks before it and all the weeks to come, time stretches into an interminable path of tedium and drudgery. Well, that's a rather cynical way to describe it... How about a better visual homage to the dreaded day, like this cheeky and sexy interpretation by Brazilian artist Barbara Kramer. Thanks to this illustrated eyeful, we can already feel the Monday doldrums start to dissipate.

Women by Elsa Chang

Erotica // Saturday, July 27, 2013
"Elasmosaurus," or Elsa Chang, is a character designer at Sony Pictures Animation. She has a knack for taking famous female characters from pop culture and re-designing them with her own illustrative flair that is at once sweet, charming and sensual. Elsa's line and brushwork are wonderfully expressive, evoking body language and character just through line weight and small details. We're particularly fond of these skull-faced women and her Sailor Moon sketches.

We Can't Stop...

Erotica // Friday, July 26, 2013
Ok, I know what you're thinking... but just give it a chance. The new 'We Can't Stop' video from, ahem, Miley Cyrus, is actually kind of amazing. There's some white girls twerking (duh), all kinds of party-in-the-pool action, and you might even catch an accidental nip-slip if you watch hard enough. The art-direction and styling is kind of brilliant also- I'm just saying....

Sung Jang's Hair Drawings

Erotica // Thursday, July 25, 2013
Chicago-based artist Sung Jang manipulates hair on canvas to create his finely wraught 'drawings'. Like Rorschach tests with an imminently bodily dimension, Jang's works can fluidly inhabit a variety of forms depending on the eye of the beholder, from vertebrae to erogenous zones. Jang explains that hair 'possesses a peculiar duality: a duality of beauty and waste. It is something beautiful and alive, yet, when detached form the head, it instantly loses its value. It then becomes an insignificant object, nothing more than messy garbage. Creating images with the “fallen” hair, I tried to bring it back to an object of life.'
