Cassie Tyler's "The Sensation of Drowning" puts a rather lyrical, illustrative twist on what would inarguably a pretty horrible sensation. Tyler is a young artist based in New York whose main medium is digital. She says her hobbies include "drawing and making myself laugh when nobody else finds things funny."

Photographer David Roemer

Erotica // Monday, August 05, 2013
Here's a little Monday eye candy for your ever-discerning erotica palette: Irina Shayk in a shoot for GQ, photographed by the outstanding David Roemer. Roemer has quickly established himself as part of the new generation of image-makers in the fashion industry, pushing the boundaries of movement, power, and expression. His subjects have a dimensional quality that can often be ironic or jarring, mixing retro and modern elements. With a strong attention to color and visually retaining a graphic sensibility, his images blend the fine line between natural texture and subtle perfection.

The Essence of Sensuality by Malcolm Liepke

Erotica // Monday, August 05, 2013
Born in 1953 and raised in Minneapolis, Malcolm Liepke's masterful use and knowledge of his chosen medium is the culmination of a long and ongoing apprenticeship, with compositional and tonal nods to the likes of Singer Sargent, Whistler, and Degas. The women depicted in his paintings include the innocent girl next door aside glamorous fashionistas of a bygone era. These slender figures with elongated limbs and pouting lips are indeed indicative of the catwalk models of the fashion world, yet through Liepke's skillful brushwork he flips the proverbial finger to the Photoshopped, touched-up cover girl imagery of modern society.

Cartoon sass meets real-life sex appeal in the work of London-based artist and designer Ray Edwards, aka REEG. Reminiscent of an old-school animation style ala Max Fleischer and Ub Iwerks, Edwards' illustrations are both classically cheeky and sexually provocative, a combination that delights the inner child as much as it titillates the seasoned adult.

Art by Jane Radstrom

Erotica // Saturday, August 03, 2013
Jane Radstrom is a painter and designer based in Austin, TX. Her work focuses mainly on the body, specifically the female body, as it lives and strives in its fluctuating form. It's easy to get lost in Radstrom's ever-thoughtful explorations into the pastel impressions of double-exposed portraiture. These oil drawings are soft, sensual and very deliberate, exposing the intellect in the process behind each artwork. Radstrom says that she lives a quiet life of cooking, eating, teaching, painting and scheming.
