Augor MSK and UP Hit the East Coast with Obama Love

Juxtapoz // Thursday, October 16, 2008
Our homeboy and legendary graffiti artist Augor MSK took a trip across the country to hit the East Coast with some Obama love, guerilla style. Augor, in association with Upper Playground, is a big Obama fan and they decided to support the UP limited poster series by going out across the US wheatpasting Obama posters and stickers anywhere and everywhere along the East Coast. See more photos of the Augor/UP Obama wheatpaste and sticker campaign. More here.

WK Interact-s with the Streets of NYC

Juxtapoz // Wednesday, October 15, 2008
"What makes WK’s work so remarkable is how well it lends itself to the bombers and taggers and rambling homeless. The black and white figure is like a large scale human size newspaper waiting to be highlighted, crossed out, torn, and written over," writes our NYC-based homeboy, Dasco. We couldn't agree more; WK Interact has been killing it on the streets and in the gallery for years and we love getting the opportunity to see his freshest work out on the streets on New York for all to appreciate. DvA Gallery Group Show Photos

Juxtapoz // Wednesday, April 30, 2008
Chicago’s DvA Gallery played host to a packed house this past Saturday, April 26th. With such amazing artists in the show like: Shag, Glenn Barr, Tony Fitzpatrick, Liz McGrath, Daniel Martin Diaz, Bob Dob, Nathan Ota, Dave Cooper, Chris Mars, Gary Taxali, Ana Bagayan, Daniel Peacock, Yosuke Ueno, Paul Barnes, Martha Rich, Esther Pearl Watson, Mark Todd, Jason Houchen, Scott G. Brooks, Bonnie Reid, and Mark Atomos Pilon, we can understand why the event attracted so many guests! Acting as quite the multi-tasker, Mark Atomos Pilon also found time to snap some great shots of the night’s events. We love this photo of finishing touches being added to the Truth piece, but skip over to Flickr to see more show pics now.

EbOY's Peecol

Juxtapoz // Tuesday, September 25, 2007
For everyone out there who loves to stare for hours at the intricate, pixelated works of the illustration wizards at EbOY (and we are definitely included in that everyone), you are about to be bathed in glory. By partnering with toy czars Kid Robot, the eBoys have created their first toy line called Peecol. Continuing their record of cleverly designed toys sets from cleverer artists the Kid Robot crew are set to release the first figure on October 10th with a series of six more following on October 25th, then six more in November and more after that. You can get a preview of good things to come at Kid Robot's Peecol site if you're the type of person who likes to spoil surprises. The figures have that signature Duplo-esque style of simplicity that makes all the EbOY work so damn enjoyable, and in truth they look like the best designed characters that original NES never knew. There's still some time left before the toys drop so you might want to spend those days wisely building giant Lego cities for them to populate once they do arrive. Study the EbOY posters for ideas; that should make them feel right at home. and
