Using various sized chunks of concrete found from an old pool In Coledale, Australia, artist Lizzie Buckmaster Dove creates earthworks that investigate "identity, connection and 'genius loci' or sense of place." Her project, “Pool, the Alchemy of Blue” began from daily walks and now involves people from the surrounding community. The piece reflects the various phases of the moon, time and change, and when speaking on the work the artists said, "Pool, the Alchemy of Blue isn’t about ruin but about transformation… Australia has a unique history of sea pools. Pool, the Alchemy of Blue will operate as a love song to this history."
