Human Movement Translated into Colorful Visuals

Juxtapoz // Tuesday, September 10, 2013
Do you remember when your computer would freeze and you could drag the windows around, creating endless trails behind it? We think you can still do something similar to your mouse pointer somewhere in your settings... JL Design, a Taiwanese design firm, recently produced a colorful series translating human movement into visuals that remind us of that (except way way cooler). Using six motion-sensing cameras to capture the movements, the firm captures the different movements of a father and his daughter, dancers, a romantic couple, and a martial arts expert.

The Photography and Performance Art of Claudia Rogge

Juxtapoz // Wednesday, September 04, 2013
Not quite sure why everytime we see a group of people in dark clothing and masks we immediately think Eyes Wide Shut, and the fantastic, mass-oriented, fine art photography of Claudia Rogge does just that to us. The German photographer shoot individual subjects, and then digitally arranges them to create a sense of mass participation and performance.

The Work of Nadine Boughton

Juxtapoz // Wednesday, August 14, 2013
Using vintage magazins and materials, Nadine Boughton will scan and compose digital collages. "My intention is to blend the nostalgia for the past with the darkness beneath 'the pleasures of modern living.' I am interested in the portrayal of women and domestic culture; the illusion of security; food as an objecdt of desire and comfort; and the grip of materiality."

Digital Art and Illustration by Lambuja

Hal Lasko: "The Pixel Painter" (Video)

Juxtapoz // Monday, August 05, 2013
Hal Lasko used to work as a typographer back when everything was done by hand. Forced to retire after suffering from a condition that causes blindness at the center of his vision, his family introduced him to both the computer and MS Paint about fifteen years ago. Now 97, and able to use the computer to magnify his work enough to see, Hal still uses MS Paint to express his passion for painting. Watch a fantastic video after the jump of Hal's 'blend of pointillism and 8-bit art.'

This morning we check out Croatian digital artist Paolo Ceric's drawings where he uses a single line to complete the entire work. He currently only has a couple of them up but we can't wait to see more!

Fabergé Fractals by Tom Beddard

Juxtapoz // Friday, May 17, 2013
We have to be honest, we're not quite sure what's going on here but we like it. Edinberg, England-based laser physicist, web developer, and business owner Tom Beddard is fascinated with the aesthetics of detail and complexity that is the result of simple mathematical or algorithmic processes. He produces these images using "Fractals" in his Fractal Lab...
