Dewey Guyen's Illustrated Oddities

Illustration // Saturday, March 23, 2013
Dewey Guyen is an autodidact illustrator and comic book artist. He was born April 17th, 1992 in a refugee camp in Galang, Indonesia. Growing up in Sherbrooke city, he started to collaborate in international fanzines and collectives at the age of 11, published by Le Dernier Cri, SSE Project, Kuš! and United Dead Artists. He was influenced at a very young age by the grimy, misshapen forms of cartoon characteres "Ren and Stimpy"--he liked them because they were "weird and dark and absurd." Dewey quit art school after a semester, saying, "I'd rather learn by myself."
