Video: "SURVIVE" - DETROIT

Graffiti // Thursday, July 18, 2013
After a successful pop-up art show in New Orleans, SURVIVE headed to Detroit for another one night only event highlighting work from various members of the Los Angeles-based, LTS Crew. 36 3x4 ft. canvasses were on display from artists Siner, Fishe, Dreye, Kyle Thomas and Nathan Smith, along with a large mural painted on the facade of the show space. Over the last few years, Detroit has become a destination for a diverse group of creative types and you can see from this video there is a pride that comes with living and surviving there. Next stop for SURVIVE  is Oakland, August 2, 2013.

"Anatomy of the BunnyKitty" by Nychos x Pursue

Street Art // Thursday, June 27, 2013
While in Detroit for his show “I’d Like to Meat You!” at Innerstate Gallery, Nychos got busy on some walls, one of the most stand out being his collaboration with Pursue. Together, the two dissected and sectioned Pursue’s “BunnyKitty.” Both artists continually use bunnies in their work, so the two working together seems naturally fitting and it sows with this piece.

Video: Elmer bombing in Detroit

Graffiti // Thursday, June 13, 2013
The influx of graffiti writers traveling to Detroit to leave their mark is evident. Hundreds of names cover the streets making it increasingly more difficult to stand out. One name that dominates the landscape and is actually a native to these parts is Elmer. This new video follows him around Detroit as he drinks Hennessy, paints a number of spots (even in a snowstorm), and gets some unwanted attention from the police. Shot in black and white with a good choice in music for setting the mood.
