Oscar-winning auteur David Lynch brilliantly re-appropriates his brooding, cinematic aesthetic in his first photography book, The Factory Photographs, and his coinciding exhibition at Photographers’ Gallery, curated by Petra Giloy-Hirtz. Fascinated by windswept factories and the dark, enigmatic quality of smokestacks, detached pipes, and the textures of decay, Lynch's denuded black-and-white photographs were shot in various locations including New York, Poland, Germany and England.

All artwork is created by a variety of artists as tribute to Lynch’s legacy. Take an exotic ride through his films as each piece takes a different approach displaying your favorite characters and tropes, some, transformed to be more eccentric than Lynch intended.

Twin Peaks is one of Martin Woutisseth's favorite TV series. In his re-creation of the television show, Martin needed to illustrate 33 characters. He speaks about the richness of the Twin Peaks universe, in terms of symbolism and detail, and wanted to be sure that nothing was lost in translation.

By the way, we are again curating the art portion of the annual Outside Lands Music and Art Festival in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park this summer. We bring this up now because Nine Inch Nails, the comeback version, will be headlining one of the nights. So without further ado, we want to show you the new music video by NIN, "Came Back Haunted," directed by the legendary and consistently interesting and progressive David Lynch. This video could cause a seizure, dance party, industrial hangout session, or just plain listening pleasure. Trent Reznor never looked so blurry.

David Lynch has some pretty lively hair and we are having some fun this morning. San Francisco-based creative Jimmy Chen has taken the legendary filmmaker's various hairstyles and juxtaposed them with an equivalent famous artwork.

In 2010, in conjunction with the 20th anniversary celebration of David Lynch's cult-followed "Twin Peaks," Tim Biskup created a re-worked portrait of the character Laura Palmer for a corresponding art show, "In the Trees." Today, Biskup released a print edition of "Walk With Bob," available both framed and unframed. You can buy it now in his webstore.

Today, March 6, Tilton Gallery in NYC is set to open an exhibition of paintings, sculpture, works on paper, photographs, and drawings by famed filmmaker, David Lynch. The exhibition marks Lynch's first art show in NYC since 1989. A s Tilton Gallery points out, "Lynch’s art is, in all its manifestations, a vessel for his own quirky but unified and consistent vision."
