Joshua Liner Gallery has moved spots in NYC to a street-level, 2,600-square-foot exhibition space located at 540 West 28th Street in the Chelsea Arts District. To kick off the opening of the new space, the gallery will open a group show, Direct Address, this Thursday March 21 with a great roster of former Juxtapoz cover artists and features, as well as some new talent that we look forward to checking out. Swoon, Steve "ESPO" Powers, David Ellis, Evan Hecox, and Jean-Pierre Roy are just a few names in the show....

Over the past year, Juxtapoz and Converse have teamed on a unique project, Wall to Wall, where we invite an artist in a city in North America to create a semi-permanent mural based around the artist's interpretation of the iconic Converse star. Today, we look back on the mural created in NYC, Manhattan specifically, by former Juxtapoz cover artist and Barnstormer, David Ellis.

Singapore/San Francisco-based Chandran Gallery, in association with Juxtapoz and Power House Productions, present a special benefit exhibition, installation, and auction in support of an innovative artist-in-residence program in Detroit. The exhibition, Iron To Gold/Ashes To Hope, will take place on Friday, January 4 at Chandran Gallery in SF, with an online auction beginning on January 4.

Following GO EAST – the first incarnation in a two-part gallery swap project with NYC's Joshua Liner Gallery- Mark Moore Gallery is pleased to announce GO WEST: David Ellis and Kris Kuksi, featuring two concurrent solo exhibitions curated by Joshua Liner. While the show makes for Ellis' third solo exhibition in Los Angeles, it will be Kuksi's first local solo presentation of new work.

As we noted earlier this week, NYC-based David Ellis (cover artist from March 2007, plus a major contributor to our Barnstormers issue in December 2009) opens a new exhibition, True Value, at Joshua Liner Gallery in NYC tonight, December 15. The outpouring for Japan in the wake of the tragic earthquakes and tsunami has been amazing, and tonight, Friday, April 8, at OPENHOUSE GALLERY in NYC, there is a another great silent auction benefit, 3.11 Project's "Dear Japan, We Love You." The exhibition will feature over 50 artists in multimedia installations, painting, photography, and sculpture. More after the jump . . .

Longtime supporter of the art, agnès b, opened a new boutique in Manhattan at 50 Howard Street, featuring a gallery that is currently housing works by Rostarr, Young Kim, Ryan McGinness, Harmony Korine, Ryan McGinley, José Parla, BÄST, David Ellis, Louise Bourgeois and Jonas Mekas.
