We recently stopped by Space 1520 for the opening of New Image’s Pop-Up Gallery, featuring works from a ton of Juxtapoz featured aritsts and friends including Date Farmers, Richard Colman, Cleon Peterson, Misha Hollenbach, David Ellis, Maya Hayuk, and more. Joshua Liner Gallery is pleased to present Hudson River Alley, an exhibition of paintings and mixed-media works by the New York-based artist and former Juxtapoz cover artist, David Ellis. This is Ellis’s second solo show with the gallery, and the artist will be present at the opening reception on September 12. We have a preview of some of the tobacco stain works and other paintings that will be in the exhibition.

On September 12, 2013, Woodstock, New York-based mixed-media, installation, and fine artist David Ellis, will open a new exhibition, Hudson River Alley, at Joshua Liner Gallery in NYC. Today, Juxtapoz looks back on David Ellis cover story in March 2011 by contributing editor, Joey Garfield, an interview done on the eve of Ellis' collaborative show with Swoon and Faile in Los Angeles. Joshua Liner Gallery has moved spots in NYC to a street-level, 2,600-square-foot exhibition space located at 540 West 28th Street in the Chelsea Arts District. To kick off the opening of the new space, the gallery will open a group show, Direct Address, this Thursday March 21 with a great roster of former Juxtapoz cover artists and features, as well as some new talent that we look forward to checking out.
