Our old friend David Choe (that full issue with David we did is a bible of how to do art on your own terms) has been extremely busy over the past few months. You could start with his date night with Aubrey Plaza if you wanted to. But Dave is currently in Mexico City, painting murals and collaborating with a current Jux favorite, Dhear. Before then, David hosted an art workshop with the children of South Central, Los Angeles with aims to complete a 40 foot wall surrounding their playground at A Place Called Home (APCH).

David Choe x RZA & Sandy Benefit Show @ Scion AV, LA

David Choe has teamed up with hip-hop legend and activist, RZA, for a special collaboration to benefit relief efforts for Superstorm Sandy. The collab is part of the charity exhibition, The Gift Show, being held at the Scion AV Installation space in Los Angeles opening this Saturday, December 15. There will be 10 prints, sold during the opening this Saturday. Other artists include Sage Vaughn, Mark Mothersbaugh, Blek le Rat, and others.

Upper Playground Releases "stickUP" and David Choe "Choebot" Mobile Apps

After the success of Alex Pardee's "WayCooler" mobile sticker app, San Francisco-based Upper Playground teamed up with 99CentBrains to create two new free mobile apps: the "stickUP" app that features classic and UP artwork, and "Choebot," which allows you to apply David Choe's artwork to your photos or your parent's faces. Both are available in theApple App store now.

The Outsiders Releases New Conor Harrington & David Choe Prints

The Outsiders, a gallery and print shop of Lazarides Gallery in London, just released prints from former Juxtapoz cover artists, Conor Harrington and David Choe. Harrington's Tardis of Delight is made in an edition of 60, while David Choe's Helmet was editioned at 187.

David Choe has remained quiet and under the radar since he made national headlines when his Facebook stock was estimate to bed worth approximately $200 million.  The artist just finished a new mural on the island of Hawaii in his classic "dirty style”, which includes an abnormal teenage mutant ninja turtle and octopus head garment.

David Choe, who made international headlines with news of his Facebook stock holdings becoming public, made the rounds of major NYC media outlets this past week, including Barbara Walters and Howard Stern, and NMA.tv created this animation recounting the week.
