Evening Drawings by Dag Erik Elgin

Juxtapoz // Friday, December 16, 2011
This body of paintings by artist Dag Erik Elgin begins with a simple gesture of line drawings done in the domestic space at the end of the day. However these seemingly basic oil on canvas works composed of observation of the everyday rendered by elemental contours focuses not on the appearance of wall socket or a curtain but on the phenomenological conditional experience and the attempt to recreate this experience through a sort of defamiliarization.
