Some people crochet hats, and give them to their grandkids for the holidays. Others, like Jo Hamilton, crochet portraits of both famous people and friends, and not in small hand sized format, but large, blanket sized format.

This morning we are getting a kick out of the crochet art of Norway's Inger Carin, featuring an array of everyday objects crocheted. Guns, boxing gloves, television sets, cassette tapes, beer bottles, and credit cards all get a little handmade treatment. 

Polish-born, New York-based Olek is famed for her crochet work in both public and galleries. The Bad Artists Imitate, The Great Artists Steal, her new solo show at Jonathan LeVine Gallery, features a site-specific installation with a new series of crochet sculptures and canvases.
