Juxtapoz // Wednesday, October 16, 2013
This past weekend, our friends at Thinkspace Gallery were one the many galleries setting up shop at Beyond Eden,a multi-gallery event celebrating the New Contemporary Art Movement in Los Angeles put together by Andrew Hosner (co-owner / curator at Thinkspace). Not only that, but one of Juxtapoz' founders, Greg Escalante, was honored as an art community figure who helps push the genre forward. Nice one, Greg!

I think that nightfall is always the best time to become enveloped in the grotto that is Copro Gallery at Bergamot Station. There was a particularly dreamy aspect to opening night of the group that runs July 27 through August 20, 2013, and it transmuted boundaries on many levels...

Miss Van, who just opened a new exhibition at Copro Gallery in Santa Monica, has also released a new print with London's Pictures on Walls, Virgen, that has the print shop saying, "Wow. Well this really came out better than we expected. What’s French for ooh la-la?" The print was made in an edition of 60, signed and numbered by the Toulouse-born, Barcelona-based artist, and 5-color screenprint using fluorescent ink and graphite.
Juxtapoz // Tuesday, July 31, 2012
Former Juxtapoz cover artist, and continually one of our favorite fine artists working today, French-born, Barcelona-based artist Miss Van is set to open a new exhibition, Wild at Heart, at Copro Gallery in Santa Monica on Saturday, August 11, 2012. Internationally known for her poupées, the French word for dolls, Miss Van’s dreamlike narratives are filled with spontaneity and lightness. Yet they also reveal a darker side that has evolved from her experience as an acclaimed graffiti artist.
Juxtapoz // Sunday, July 29, 2012
We have seen the works of Michael Page over the years at Copro Gallery and Shooting Gallery, but this year we have become increasingly impressed by the works of the San Francisco-based painter. Each work is acrylic and oil on canvas, each one appearing to be a discovery of a distant universe or surreal dream brought to canvas.
Juxtapoz // Monday, March 26, 2012
We showed you the art, but now we focus on everyone that came out to Copro Gallery this past Saturday to celebrate Juxtapoz Turns 18, a retrospective and collection of artworks and artists who have helped shape our publication over nearly two decades. A special thanks to everyone that came to the opening (wait for the next post) and all the artists who contributed to the show.
