Norm McDonald! That’s who I’m reminded of whenever I see Anthony Ausgang. Well, a taller Norm McDonald with a leonine mane. It’s the intelligent mischief in the eyes, and yes, there will be lots of felines in his upcoming show “Catascopes” opening Saturday, May 30th at the Copro Gallery in Bergamot Station in Santa Monica.

Paul Revere and the Midnight Ride notwithstanding, we love British Invasions. From the Beatles in the 60’s to the Human League in the 80’s, Vivienne Westwood to Stella McCartney, and Hell’s Kitchen to House of Cards, culture from across the pond has literally been embraced and adopted on these shores. Brit Week was founded in 2007 to celebrate our creative relationship, educating the public on the full range of England’s cultural contributions, and to do that in festive style, starting with last night’s Red Carpet Launch at the Beverly Hills Home of the Consul General photographed by Juxtapoz Magazine’s Sam Graham. Business Innovation Awards and the Christopher Guy Design award follow, but you’re here about art, right?

"A Blind Man's Journey continues" is Davis’ first solo show with Copro and will contain many paintings from his new book "Blind Man's Journey".
