The New York City Department of Transportation's Art Program has collaborated with six artists to present dynamic, colorful murals along the nine-hundred-foot tunnel in Washington Heights. From a warm welcome, to complex geometric patterns, to rolling landscapes and positive messaging, these murals take pedestrians on an art-filled journey between the street and the 1 train.

A delayed mural ordinance is creating confusion and frustration amongst artists, and building owners in Los Angeles. A recent wall painted by Zes, Push, Chris Brand, and Evan Skrederstu was painted over to serve as a backdrop for a production company, while another wall painted by Sand, Vyal, and Cope2 was buffed out by orders of the LAPD saying it was illegal to have a mural or graffiti piece on their property.

Yesterday, graffiti stalwarts from NYC and Los Angeles, Cope2 and Retna, collaborated on a colorful wall in the Bronx. As we wrote the other day, Retna was working on the famed Bowery and Houston wall in Manhattan, but found time to make it up north to the Bronx to work with Cope. Good results as always.

This past December 1st in the Wynwood District that was a major epicenter of activity during the Basel weekend, Cope2 opened a solo exhibition, Rise to the Occasion. Cope just sent us a few photos of the set-up of his mural outside the gallery, plus a few shots of some friends who stopped by the opening.
