Graffiti to Comics...

Graffiti // Thursday, May 16, 2013
Dazed and Confused wrote an article which notes Cony, Horfe and others from PAL crew as part of a loosely defined genre described as “Comic Abstraction.” As the author states, “Taken one way, the works are innocuous, colourful, abstract shapes. Turn back and they lurch, grimace and menace, Disney turned evil. Sortais is one of the finest examples of new Comic Abstraction, pushing it to new directions with an infectious energy.”

Cony x Seb

Graffiti // Thursday, March 21, 2013
Two perfect examples from Cony and Seb on how to paint something proper using only four colors. An unlikely match of styles that worked out well.

Some photos of two color, square formatted Conie/Cony rolldowns in Paris. He appears to be painting a ton of these lately with friends.

CONY @ Gallery Goldstein, London

Juxtapoz // Thursday, December 27, 2012
Gallery Goldstein in London recently held an exhibition showcasing the work of Paris-based artist, Cony. Closely associated with Horfe, the PAL crewmember creates loose illustrations reminiscent of old Walt Disney illustrations but with a darker and more contorted look. Included in the show was a toilet paper sculpture resembling a figure vandalizing the gallery walls in feces? Yes, that happened.
